Sr. Buyer
Essential Functions/Duties
Interaction with the program team, plant, suppliers, and customers;
participation in relevant team meetings
Implementation of purchasing processes and objectives within the program
Managing and communication of all purchasing issues related to the program, including engineering change orders
Proposal of sourcing strategy in adherence with purchasing manager, duration of RFQ and lead on value analysis process, commercial negotiation, preparation of sourcing recommendation, finalization and negotiation of purchasing-related contracts and agreements with suppliers.
Esurance of the progress on all purchasing parts.
Explore the market for new materials, supplies and processes in order to develop new sources and/or generate cost benefits and/or risk reductions.
Cost Saving Initiatives:
Initiate projects that will lead to cost savings
Esurance of capacities at suppliers.
Has the ability to stop production, upon notifying the supervisor and Plant Manager for Safety related matters requiring immediate attention.
Understand and comply with company EHS policy
Education
Bachelor'sdegree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Management, Engineering or Equivalent
Related Experience/Specialized Knowledge
3-5 years in similar position
Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements - Plastic Injection Molding, Metals a plus
