Description

Kentucky Arts Council in Frankfort, Kentucky has a position available that might just fit you!! The ideal candidate will have very strong people skills, be adept in planning and organizing, self-directed, yet able to take direction and work as a team, be comfortable in engaging with people one-on-one, be willing to learn new information, and most importantly, be creative and highly motivated.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop KAC annual communications strategy and plan working closely with supervisor, executive director, and appropriate agency staff.
- Develop well-rounded strategy to promote and publicize grants, events, and other activities.
- Coordinate with external resources to implement advertising and marketing plans.
- Write, style, and coordinate materials for publication and promotion to promote KAC programs, grants, projects and events, or other industry news.
- Collaborate with other KAC staff to provide content for social media, a newsletter, a podcast, and other digital media.
- Pitch stories, respond to media inquiries, coordinate interviews, report applicable media contacts to cabinet and other interested parties.
- Coordinate radio and television interviews for agency staff, program artists, etc., in relation to agency events.
- Write and coordinate KAC annual report;
requests appropriate data and material from other agency staff to complete report.
- Serve as liaison with Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet communications and marketing staff;
information office liaison with South Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, and National Assembly of State Arts Agency offices.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Three years of experience in the administration of or consultation with organizations that serve artists or foster public involvement in the arts.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
Graduate study in creative arts or arts management will substitute for the experience on a year for year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
Additional experience in creative arts or arts management will substitute for the education on a year for year basis.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Travel is required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
