Accounting Associate

Gas client is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join their team in Lafayette. The successful candidate will play a key role in the finance department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Preparing and reviewing financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
Conducting analysis of budget to actual results and providing recommendations.
Reconciling balance sheet accounts and resolving discrepancies.
Supporting external audits and ensuring compliance with accounting policies.
Maintaining accurate and organized financial records.
Assisting with special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis.
Candidates should have a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, as well as 2+ years of experience in a similar role. Strong knowledge of GAAP, proficiency in accounting software (e.G., QuickBooks), and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required. The ideal candidate should be highly detail-oriented, organized, and have excellent communication skills.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or related role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.G., QuickBooks)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Excellent communication skills
