Full job description
Achievement House Cyber Charter School is seeking a Student Mentor for the 2024-2025 school year. Achievement House Cyber Charter School, headquartered in Exton, PA, is a 100% online cyber charter school serving grades 7 through 12. We pride ourselves in being student focused with all that we do. We strive to provide a supportive and engaging environment for our students and staff daily.
Position Type:
Full-Time, 10-month, Non-Exempt position.
Salary:
$45,000-$49,000 based on education and experience.
Work Location:
We are located in Exton, PA. If over 90 minutes from Exton, exclusively work from home.
Schedule:
7:
00am-3:
30pm or 7:
30am-4:
00pm. Hybrid in office 1 day per week, or remote work schedule depending on location.
Reports to:
Supervisor of Mentors
Responsibilities:
- Provide support, guidance, and information about education and opportunities to students to help them achieve academic potential.
- Serve as a direct link between students and teachers, employment opportunities, and post-secondary education opportunities.
- Welcome new students and help acclimate them to AHCCS.
- Provide support to students regarding their responsibilities to log in, proper attendance, consequences of truancies, and time management strategies.
- Monitor student's academic success.
- Communicate and work closely with parents, guardians, and staff.
- Plan, motivate, and guide students towards their future goals.
- Problem solve with students, families, and staff.
- Conduct home visits including possible overnight travel.
- Participate in the organization and administration of the State Testing.
- Assist in special projects, as appropriate.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma is required. A bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous experience working with youth in an academic or community service organization is desired.
- Any work in the area of student counseling is a plus.
- Cyber school experience is a positive factor.
Required Certificates/Clearances:
- FBI Clearances - Fingerprints
- Criminal Record Check - State of PA
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance
