Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and meticulous Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and a passion for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial health of our organization by performing a variety of accounting duties, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and compliance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Maintain the general ledger, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and collections management.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitoring expenditures and variances.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Prepare documentation and support external and internal audits.
Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
Provide training and support to junior accounting staff and other team members as needed.
Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel;
experience with accounting software (e.G., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices;
familiarity with GAAP and other relevant standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Effective organizational and time management skills;
ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and across departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
Experience with advanced accounting software and ERP systems.
Previous experience in Biotech or manufacturing industry.
