The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring compliance with government contracts, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounts payable, particularly in the context of government contracting, and will demonstrate a strong understanding of federal regulations and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, coding, and approval routing.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and follow up on outstanding invoices.
Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
Collaborate with the finance team to support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
Ensure compliance with federal regulations and contract requirements.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits as needed.
Provide support and guidance to junior accounts payable staff.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable, with a focus on government contracts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
