Senior Accountant

Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily accounting activities, including the preparation of financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to:
accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Ensure accurate and timely closing of the books.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules, data, and documentation.
Reconciliation:
Perform account reconciliations and analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are resolved.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support business decisions.
Provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance and operational efficiency.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Leadership:
Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing training and support as needed.
Lead and participate in special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting, general ledger, and compliance.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.G., Famous) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
