Position Summary
We are seeking a strong Senior Accountant, who is passionate about their professional development, to help build out and maintain accounting functions for multiple entities with 9-figure combined revenue. This role will manage several day-to-day and closing processes surrounding inventory, infrastructure builds, project cost collection, product line and company allocations. This person will also play a key part in developing and further enhancing processes surrounding financial consolidations, project accounting, and various product cost analysis/reporting. You will collaborate closely with our growing Finance Transformation function to identify new accounting tools and methods, and then put them into action! The role will have high visibility to finance, accounting, and operational departments, as we go through to understand their processes and inputs into financial reporting. This position, in a highly relevant and in-demand industry, reports to our Corporate Accounting Manager who leads our GL accounting efforts and has a passion for mentorship and employee growth. This is a hybrid role that will have the flexibility to work a combination at home and in the office, a modern space in the most sought-after area of downtown Phoenix, Block 23 at Cityscape.
Requirements
What We Want You to Do
Assist with research and implementation of technical accounting pronouncements.
Preparation of the monthly consolidated financials, including eliminations
Build, prepare and analyze the reconciliations of balance sheet accounts monthly, including the reconciliation of subledger and general ledger.
Preparation and/or reviewing of journal entries:
accruals, deferrals, amortization, etc.
General ledger activity analysis to identify and correct transaction errors.
Perform month end close process including reconciliation and journal entry review for multiple entities.
Producing financial data for management team upon request and assisting with other special Accounting projects from time to time.
Prepare specialized financial reports according to business needs and analysis demands.
Set-up and maintain projects in accordance with contract and budget costs and manage the financial lifecycle.
Support implementations of new systems.
Own proper inventory and fixed asset valuation including depreciation schedules and related write-downs, disposals, revaluations, etc.
Partner with Product Development on the labor hour collection for internally developed software cost collection and capitalization.
Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and GAAP.
Support external audits.
Who You Are
BS degree in Accounting or Finance required.
3+ Years’ combined experience in Audit or Accounting required.
Financial/Managerial Accounting/Project Accounting a plus.
Highly organized, detailed oriented, and results-driven.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience implementing new technical accounting standards.
Conscientious and comfortable taking responsibility for critical and time-sensitive processes.
Fixed Asset and inventory accounting experience a strong plus.
Advanced with Excel, strong with MS Office and accounting software packages (SAP S4Hana helpful).
Demonstrated capacity to be a self-starter and work without significant supervision.
It Would Be Great If You Also Have
Industry and accounting experience with Software as a Service (SaaS).
CPA, CMA/CGMA, or Master’s degree in Accounting or related field.
Experience with Excel VBA, Alteryx, UiPath or other similar financial automation and data management tools.
