Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager with a minimum of 5 years in safety management, specifically within civil construction projects encompassing concrete, underground utilities, and earthwork. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel on-site, implementing and enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and policies tailored to civil construction projects.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance issues.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate safety into project planning and execution phases.
Provide ongoing safety training and education for all project personnel, emphasizing best practices and regulatory requirements.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and provide thorough reports and recommendations for preventive measures.
Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including training, inspections, and incidents.
Serve as the primary point of contact for safety inquiries and concerns from both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to proactively mitigate risks and enhance safety performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management within civil construction, with a strong understanding of concrete, underground utilities, and earthwork.
Professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Proficient in MS Office Suite;
experience with safety management software is a plus.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving safety issues.
