Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Project Engineer – Ports and Marine to be based in Houston, TX to support our growing Transportation Business Line Ports and Marine Division projects. This is an excellent career opportunity for an engineer with a strong technical background and looking to grow into a project leadership role.
The responsibilities of this position also include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist Project Manager by providing project or task management (design schedules and budgets), and engineering design support (engineering reports, design calculations, plans, specifications, quantity and cost estimates) for seaports, marine structural, and upland civil engineering design projects
Perform professional engineering work involving the application of standard techniques, procedures, and design criteria in carrying out routine engineering tasks
Excellent writing skills, including technical report writing.
Be responsible for the preparation and production of reports, plans, specifications and estimates
Provide office support for data management, report preparation, and maintain the required AECOM-related documentation and forms
Be involved in all project aspects from client meetings, design/study development and site/field visits during design and construction
Capable of working independently or within (or leading) a design team
Supervise/Lead junior level engineers
Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
Schedules, team building, and budget management
Work independently and concurrently on multiple projects, maintaining project continuity, progress, and project profitability
Excellent communication skills with project team, regulatory agencies, and clients
Ability to do occasional field work (site visits and inspections) and travel
