Job Description
Maintains weekly visibility on part shortage.
Attends daily production meeting to report the status of the supply chain. Advises appropriate individuals and departments of any delivery deviations that affect scheduled manufacturing orders.
Maintains contact with suppliers, to ensure that materials and services which are potentially late, are expedited to arrive on time and to the quality standards to meet production schedule objectives.
Produces required correspondence to expedite critical purchased items. Revises or changes purchase orders to reflect vendor delivery dates in Instron ERP system.
Coordinates activities in partnership with the Category Manager and Instron Engineering to resolve technical issues or problems that suppliers may have with engineering information.
Handles adjustments with vendors involving replacement of materials not conforming to purchase specifications, return of material declared surplus because of engineering changes, cancellations of orders, etc. (MRB)
Publish monthly metrics to Sourcing and Supply Chain on Vendor on time performance along.
Responsible for purchasing materials, parts, supplies, and equipment following established purchasing policies and procedures and optimizes price, delivery, and terms, reviews and approves purchase requisitions.
Identifies potential suppliers and issues requests for quotations.
Analyzes and selects suppliers and issues purchase orders;
follows-up and expedites, as necessary.
Investigates and qualifies suppliers. Monitors market trends and conditions
This is an intermediate level position who is typically responsible for purchasing $6 to $10 million per year in raw materials/goods.
Ensures work maintains data integrity within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System
May negotiate supplier agreements under the direction of Supply Chain leadership, performs other duties as assigned by Supply Chain Leadership, effectively monitors contract compliance.
Ability to support Enterprise Procurement programs, Collaborate smoothly with all disciplines of the Procurement.
Utilizes supply Chain tools to report contract status and performance, collaborates with other Supply Chain functions to perform work in an efficient effective manner, Uses Supply Chain tools to perform benchmarking and financial analysis.
Adapts communication to diverse audiences.
