Twin Lakes Communications is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Operations Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installations and maintenance of our robust fiber network to customer homes and businesses, as well as customer premise voice, video, data, and alarm networks. The successful candidate will be part of a team that works to ensure our network is maintained continuously to deliver reliable service to our valued customers. The successful candidate will be part of a team that will be available on-call to respond to customer issues and network-related emergencies on a rotating basis.
The successful candidate must be an adaptive problem solver who possesses effective communication and time management skills. Candidates must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure. The successful candidate must be a team player within the organization with a commitment to excellence, integrity, and driven by results.
Functions and Abilities of the Position*:
· Installs and maintains the Twin Lakes fiber network to customer homes and businesses, as well as customer premise voice, video, data, security, and alarm networks. Ensures all services are maintained continuously to deliver reliable service to our valued customers.
· Installs and splices fiber to the home terminals.
· Installs and maintains IP phone systems in customer businesses.
· Installs and maintains CATx wiring in homes and businesses.
· Knowledge of the 7-layer OSI model and each layer’s functionality.
· Knowledge of Fiber to the home concepts and design.
· Knowledge of Central Office and network access equipment, test gear, and associated materials.
· Knowledge of Internet fundamentals;
Ethernet and wireless fundamentals.
· Skilled in operating mechanical and electrical power tools.
· Skilled in using fiber cable test equipment including multi-meter sets, light meters, and OTDR meters to solve network-related issues.
· Ability to work safely and efficiently from poles, ladders, and bucket trucks at heights for extended periods of time in order to properly install and maintain aerial fiber facilities.
· Ability to be on-call and respond to emergencies.

Requirements
The successful candidates for this position should have a High School diploma or equivalent. CompTIA Network+ certification will be required of the successful candidate before the probationary period is complete. Successful candidates must have a certification from a lineman training program or must obtain this certification within 180 days from the hire date.
