Blew &
Associates, P.A. is seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Specialist to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our staff members with their desktop computers, software applications, and hardware peripherals. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, as well as installing and configuring software and hardware.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and assistance to staff members with desktop computers, software applications, and hardware peripherals.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with desktop computers and peripherals, including hardware and software problems.
Keep deployed computers updated with the latest Dell drivers and video card updates.
Install and configure software applications and hardware peripherals.
Maintain inventory of desktop computers, software licenses, and hardware peripherals using Quickbase.
Maintain a log within Quickbase for all daily tasks/requests that were not previously assigned or predicted.
Ensure compliance with company IT policies and procedures.
Collaborate with IT team members to identify and implement improvements to the desktop support process.
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in desktop support technology.
Provide training and assistance to staff members on the proper use of desktop computers and software applications.
Occasional after hours and weekend work may be required. (not a normal occurrence)
Requirements
Proven experience as a Desktop Support Specialist or similar role.
Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems;
Macintosh is a plus, Linux is a plus but not required.
Ability to produce CAT5/6 network patch cables.
Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems, software applications, and hardware peripherals.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to install and configure software applications and hardware peripherals (change video cards, system memory, power supplies).
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
Knowledge of IT policies and procedures.
Relevant certifications are preferred (e.G., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician).
Coding skills are preferred (Python, Perl, PowerShell scripting).
Network/Windows Server understanding is preferred.
Working knowledge and understanding of Active Directory is preferred.
