Job Description
As ourPlant Manufacturing Cost Accountant, you’ll play a crucial role in optimizing cost structures, analyzing financial data, and driving efficiency. Your responsibilities will include:
Cost Analysis and Variance Reporting:
Collect and analyze production cost data and provide insights to leadership.
Drive cost revaluation processes by updating raw materials, labor, and overhead rates.
Collaborate with the Supply Chain &
Estimating Group on cost-related matters.
Research, maintain, and report on monthly costs of poor quality (including scrap, rejections, warranty, etc.).
Identify key cost drivers and recommend strategies for cost reduction, including conducting root cause analysis for significant cost variances.
Compare cost performance against industry benchmarks.
System Setup and Process ManagementEstablish systems and refine costing procedures.
Continuously improve costing procedures and systems to align with changing business needs.
Regularly review and update standard costs for accuracy and relevance.
Document cost accounting procedures and ensure alignment with internal controls.
Collaborate with IT teams to optimize ERP systems.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Participate in preparing the annual plant operating budget.
Develop standard product costs, budgeted variances, and raw material pricing analyses.
Inventory Oversight:
Ensure compliance with internal controls.
Adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
Annual Financial Audit:
Support the financial audit process, including driving annual physical inventory procedures and providing supporting documentation.
Collaborate with outside consultants for R&
D Credit analysis.
