Job Description
Duties:
You will operate a boiler with responsibility for the operation of all equipment in the boiler plants during the shift. You will fire/operate gas fired boilers and multi-fuel boilers with capacities up to 60,000 pounds of steam per hour, igniting boilers by operation of electronic controls. You will regulate oil temperature in storage tanks.

You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license. You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. The Screen-out Element for this position is:
1. Adjusting feed water pumps, steam regulators, and steam valves while under pressure.
2. Following preventive maintenance procedures and making simple operational repairs like lubrication, repacking, valves, and cleaning equipment.
3. Indicating and recording instruments and flow meters and correctly interpreting the information gained there-from for entry on the hourly log.
