As the Accounting Manager, you will be directly responsible for comanaging the GL, with a focus on operating expenses. This position will assist in the preparation and/or review of internal and external monthly, quarterly and YTD financial statements for our Board of Directors, lenders, auditors, and senior management. In this role you will have the unique opportunity to build reporting process from the ground up, help develop accounting procedures. This high impact role requires a passionate leader with a team player attitude.
This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies. Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to training and mentoring employees;
planning, assigning, delegating, and directing work;
appraising performance;
rewarding and disciplining employees;
and resolving employee issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information, while ensuring compliance with internal controls processes and procedures.
Support all internal financial reporting, departmental and functional results analysis, and communications of reporting to senior management.
Lead capitalized software assessments of internal-use software.
Resolve any discrepancies in accounting data, as identified.
Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
Ensure that all accounting activities, records, and entries follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
Work closely with the external auditors on planning, completion, and filing of required reports.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Compensation:
$110-130k
Requirements
Prior experience in technology, professional services, Software as a Service, Platform or other high growth companies preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Active CPA preferred
National public accounting firm background, public company reporting and/or audit experience
Excellent knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ability to research accounting literature, establish a position, draft supporting memorandum, and obtain auditor acceptance.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint
NetSuite experience is desirable
Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to adapt to multiple demands and shifting/competing priorities, and deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment
History of teamwork and willingness to dive-in to get the job done
Intellectually curious, creative, and collaborative
Strong communication and organizational skills
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
