Overview:
The Accounting Assistant will play a crucial role in our finance department, supporting various accounting tasks and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. This is an on-site position at our corporate office, where you will work closely with the accounting team and other departments to maintain accurate financial records and assist in daily accounting activities.
Requirements:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in a corporate or transportation environment.
Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks or similar.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to work on-site at the corporate office during standard business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
Process invoices, verify transaction information, schedule and prepare payments, and reconcile vendor statements.
Accounts Receivable:
Prepare and send invoices, track payments, follow up on overdue accounts, and assist in maintaining customer accounts.
Data Entry:
Accurately enter financial transactions into accounting software, maintain organized records, and ensure data integrity.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Reconciliation:
Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
Administrative Support:
Provide general administrative support to the finance department, including filing, answering phone calls, and managing correspondence.
Audit Preparation:
Assist in preparing documents and schedules for internal and external audits.
Compliance:
Ensure all accounting activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
Other Duties:
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall efficiency of the finance department.
