Job Description
DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a highly motivated and seasoned Welder Fabricator with an eye for detail, a great attitude, strong ethics, and a vast fabricating aptitude. The ideal candidate for this position has prior welding experience and is mechanically inclined. The right person will have experience with metal fabrication.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Assembles key components to existing vehicles, at assigned workstations, performing any combination of following tasks according to specifications and using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and production fixtures.
Cut and shape metal from its raw form into parts that can be used for assembly or aftermarket purposes.
Layout and assemble the work according to the specifications provided by sketches, prints, written instructions, and verbal directions.
Establish the necessary metalworking equipment, such as rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears.
Make and assemble metal components.
Grind and polish finished goods.
Conduct quality inspections on the finished goods.
Determine the number of materials, their thickness, and their needed sizes.
Read and interpret specifications.
Utilize measuring tools, blueprint lines, and index points, position and align subassemblies in fixtures or jigs.
Create sub-assemblies by assembling prefabricated elements.
Work accurately and precisely to achieve production deadlines.
Make that the entire completed item was produced in line with type design specifications and was certified as complying with approved quality system criteria.
Ascertain the project’s requirements, such as its scope, assembly sequences, and necessary techniques and supplies following the blueprints, drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
Fasten seams or joints together with welds, bolts, cement, rivets, solder, caulks, metal drive clips, or bonds to assemble parts into products or to repair sheet metal objects.
Utilize shears, hammers, punches, and drills to fabricate or modify items when working on construction sites.
Choose sheet metal or nonmetallic material kinds and gauges following the product’s specifications.
Move the finished pieces into place for installation and secure them.
Transport prefabricated components to building locations to facilitate assembly and installation.
Make holes in metal with a drill or a punch for screws, bolts, and rivets.
Positions and fastens together body subassemblies, such as side frames, underbodies, doors, hoods, and trunk lids, to assemble vehicle bodies and truck cabs.
Bolts, screws, clips, or otherwise fasten together parts to form subassemblies, such as doors, seats, instrument control panels, steering columns, and axle units.
Installs mechanical and electrical components and systems, such as engine, transmission, and axle units;
pumps;
wire harnesses;
instrument control panels;
and exhaust, brake, andair-conditioning systems.
Fits and adjusts doors, hoods, and trunk lids.
Seals joints and seams, using caulking gun.
Fastens seats, door paneling, headliners, carpeting, molding, and other trims into position.
Fills vehicle systems with brake and transmission fluids, engine coolant, and oil.
Experience with installing crash attenuator assemblies onto existing frames/chassis a plus.
May verify quality of own work and write description of defects observed on documents attached to vehicle bodies.
May work as member of assembly group and be assigned different workstations as production needs require.
May participate in group meetings to exchange job-related information.
