Job Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor at Talent Source will oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and effective management of inventory, staff, and processes. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to optimize warehouse procedures to meet company goals and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
Manage and lead a team of warehouse workers, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and communication among staff.
Operational Oversight:
Oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
Ensure that all operations are conducted in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy.
Implement inventory control procedures to minimize loss and optimize stock levels.
Process Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track and optimize workflows.
Quality Control:
Ensure all products are handled and stored properly to maintain quality and prevent damage.
Address and resolve any quality issues promptly and effectively.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for staff.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Equipment Maintenance:
Oversee the maintenance and proper operation of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems.
Coordinate repairs and servicing as needed.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and warehouse activities.
Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse performance and metrics to senior management.
Customer Service:
Collaborate with the customer service team to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
Address and resolve any customer complaints or issues related to warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent;
Bachelors degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar role.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Proficient in warehouse management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Solid understanding of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Work Environment:
This position involves regular exposure to a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
