We are seeking a VP of Operations to oversee all construction projects managed by our company. The candidate must ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget, overseeing day-to-day operations and expertly coordinating project planning, organization, and execution.
Responsibilities include:
Project planning:
Participate in project planning, assist in budget determination, and contractor selection.
Administration:
Manage project administration, review paperwork and permits, and handle contracts.
Operations:
Direct daily project operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Communication:
Communicate with clients, project managers, and corporate operations, regularly meeting with third parties and managers to report progress.
Leadership:
Delegate tasks, set objectives for staff, and coach the team to maximize motivation.
Safety:
Oversee quality control and safety, conduct site visits, and ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines.
The ideal candidate will bring a standard operational procedure manual and commit to weekly and monthly status review meetings, as well as meetings with client construction decision-makers. They should be familiar with construction contract language, willing to work on-site, and prepared for occasional travel. Experience in the commercial construction industry and strong leadership skills are essential.
