Job Description
The Vice President of Engineering, Platform will report directly to and partner with the CTO as well as partner with other Product line leaders to align the platform strategy and roadmap to the needs of the global enterprise. It is a unique opportunity to drive the execution of the technical vision to modernize the technology stack with a charter to improve scalability, reliability, operational cost, and engineering productivity. You will be responsible for the development of the platform strategy and for the delivery of platform solutions that enable our common services.
The ideal location for this position is Los Angeles, CA. We will consider candidates from Chicago, IL, and Boston, MA. This is a hybrid opportunity with time spent in both corporate and home offices.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership:
Provide strategic direction and technical leadership to the platform engineering team, ensuring the development of cutting-edge solutions that meet business objectives. Set a high bar on engineering excellence and drive best practices for architecture, software development, including DevOps and other lean model development and testing strategies to accelerate time-to-market and drive.
Team Building and Development:
Recruit, mentor, and manage a world-class engineering team across multiple locations and disciplines, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
Platform Architecture:
Lead the architectural design and development of our shared platform services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance to support our growing global user base.
Technology Strategy:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute the technology strategy, aligning it with the company's overall goals and objectives. Own the strategy and planning for the technology platform and product modernization roadmap to drive simplification, innovation, reuse, and scalability.
Product Innovation:
Drive innovation in our products and services by identifying emerging technologies and trends and integrating them into our platform roadmap.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with product management, design, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of engineering efforts with the overall product development process. Partner closely with the global product teams and identify where platform technology can provide innovative ways of scaling, enhancing client experience, or providing better business outcomes.
Quality and Security:
Create reporting, metrics, and benchmarks to ensure on-time, high quality continuous delivery. Establish best practices for security, and compliance, ensuring the highest standards are maintained throughout the development process.
