Job Description
Under direct supervision from the Volunteer / Outreach Coordinator, the Volunteer / Outreach Shelter Service Representative performs the following essential functions;
Provides routine support for the SFACC volunteers, including answering questions, assisting volunteers with materials, supplies or information they need to perform their duties, providing guidance, and data entry.
Uses software to manage the volunteer program, social media platforms and SFACC website. Software used includes Chameleon, Volgistics, Photoshop, and Elementor.
Conducts orientations and classes for new volunteers and presentations for visiting companies and organizations.
Organizes and implements events, tours, and meetings. Ability to plan and run off-site outreach events in the community.
Familiarity with electronic media and social media platforms. Provides content when needed under the supervision of the Volunteer/Outreach Coordinator.
Communicates orally and via emailwith volunteers, SFACC staff, and the public.
Works with other SFACC staff to coordinate volunteer training and troubleshoot issues specific to volunteers.
Performs related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS INCLUDE:
Workwith people from diverse backgrounds, including individuals who may be emotional, angry or hostile.
A fast-paced atmosphere that requires shifts in priorities at a moment’s notice.
A very busy office and working environment with frequent interruptions.
Being prepared to work a flexible schedule, which includes weekends and evenings
