Job Description
The Value-Added Services Product Development (VAS PD) team drives the diversification of our revenue with products that differentiate our network and deliver valuable solutions across other rails. The team’s strategy is to increase total merchant value by developing solutions that address complex and emerging merchant and acquirer needs.
The Vice President of Authentication &
Identity Product Development will lead our Authentication and Identity teams, including Cardinal Commerce, within our Risk and Identity Solutions Product Development organization (RaIS PD). This role will be responsible for driving the strategy, planning, and execution of technology-related initiatives that support our business goals, with a focus on products including Visa Secure, Cardinal Commerce Centinel, Visa Consumer Authentication Service (VCAS) and FIDO-based biometrics authentication (Passkeys).RaIS PD transforms data into insights for near real-time decisions and facilitates account holder authentication to help clients prevent fraud and protect account holder data – making more payments happen, safely and securely, through modern customer-centric solutions. We enable clients to accelerate revenue growth through approval optimization and risk solutions delivered across the payment ecosystem, agnostic to type or channel.
Essential Functions
Develop, implement, and oversee strategic plans for the Authentication and Identity technology team, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives.
Oversee the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge payment authentication and identity systems, ensuring they are secure, efficient, and scalable.
Continually assess the effectiveness of the existing authentication and identity management systems and processes, making improvements or changes where necessary.
Collaborate with the Product teams to identify opportunities for new products and enhancements of existing products to meet our customers’ requirements and provide Visa with a competitive edge.
Lead and manage a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. This includes hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management.
Stay abreast of the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in payment authentication and identity management, integrating them into the company's strategies and operations where beneficial.
Understand the cost of delivery and effectively estimate project costs for large, complex cross-functional projects.
Drive development of projects and lead teams across multiple geographical locations.
Provide leadership to teams across Authentication and Identity domains, establish high standards and best engineering practices.
Drive adoption and innovation of emerging technologies and industry trends.
Demonstrate thought leadership through presentations and teaching across Visa. Represent Visa as a technical advisor or spokesperson on external activities, particularly client engagement.
Champion a culture of innovation, in an environment that requires high levels of scalability, security and reliability.
