Project description:

Mechatronics technical and system validation onsite support of vehicle prototyping and pre-series activities at major global OEM production site located in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Position assumes participation in the majority of prototyping activities that include, but are not limited to, collecting electrical and other measurements, hardware installation, software management including over-the-air updates, management of components logistics, system validation/testing, data collection, and defect root cause analysis.
Responsibilities:

Prototype Vehicle Testing:

- Test planning
- Test execution
- Defect reporting
- Trace and other evidence collection
- Test results analysis and reporting
Measurement Equipment Support:

- Measurement Equipment Install / Un-Install
- Equipment health check / Troubleshooting, analysis, and escalation
- Inventory Tracking
Hardware Management:

- Retrofitting
- Maintenance Activities
Software Management:

- Retrofitting / Software Updates (Headunit / Individual ECUs)
- Over the Air Updates
- Checklist-based testing
- Test planning/documentation
- Test Execution
ADAS and Powertrain Data Collection
- Vehicle preparation support
- Root Cause Analysis support
Skills:

Must have:

- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a test engineer in the Automotive industry
- Experience with onsite support of various technical (mechanical/electrical) activities at vehicle production and assembly stations/sites.
- Experience with vehicle testing / HIL testing
- Experience with measurement equipment installation, removal, and usage
- Experience with vehicle data and trace collection
- Experience with software updates including over-the-air updates
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering basics sufficient to perform parts and component replacement at a station and troubleshooting basic issues
- Basic understanding of vehicle validation principles and process
- Vehicle diagnostics experience and understanding of principles
- Vector CANoe / CAN protocol
- Automotive SPICE knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
Nice to have:

- Software development, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering background
- Root cause analysis experience
- Experience with vehicle prototypes
