The Vehicle Interior Air Quality (VIAQ) Test Engineer is a member of the Sustainability and Eco-Design (SEED) team.
Job Description
- Responsible for vehicle, component and material-level VOCs (volatile organic compounds) analysis, ensuring compliance with Vehicle Interior Air Quality (VIAQ) global requirements
- Air samples analysis by Thermal Desorption/Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry Analysis (TD/GC/MS) and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instrumentation
- Full vehicle air sampling activity support
- Facilitate root cause analysis and solution validations for nonconforming specification conditions identified
- Conduct research and developments on testing methodologies improvements
- Actively engage with the global VIAQ team meetings
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or other relevant field
- Experience with chemistry analysis techniques, including:
GC/MS and HPLC instrumentation
- Experience with basic lab instrumentation maintenance, specifically on GC/MS and HPLC
- Ability to write technical reports
- Experience with Industry standards (ASTM, ISO, SAE)??
