About the Job
Are you passionate about textile design, print development, and creating whimsical and unique designs in the apparel industry? Printfresh is seeking a talented and experienced Apparel Textile Designer to join our team.
The Apparel Textile designer executes, and finalizes original print and embroidery designs by creating concepts, sketches, renderings, and paintings. They are also responsible for implementing and managing the print design calendar, preparing and presenting design presentations, and finalizing artwork to be handed off to factory partners for production.
Responsibilities Will Include
Print Development/Print and Embroidery Design:
Follow the print design calendar, and ensure all deadlines are met and artwork is created, reviewed, and sent out on time
Collaboratively create concepts for new collections. Build out concepts and references for print designs.
Manage the preparation of concepts for design to present to buyers/merchandising team
Create motifs and artwork for all print collections
Finalize factory artwork for print and embroidery, including detailed instructions where needed, Pantones, and printouts
Design and sources trims as needed
Send artwork packages and tech packs to overseas vendors in accordance with t&
A calendar
Create design collections for design collaborations with outside partners - like bloggers, major department stores, or product partners for licensing
Ensure full-scale print outs are created on time for presentations
Present print designs to buying and merchandising teams
Work closely with buyers to develop a cohesive print assortment to fulfill business needs, and innovate with fun new patterns and ideas
Create seasonal palettes to share with marketing and graphic design teams
Manage workflow that results from any meetings
Stay current on print trends that make sense for our brand, and follow relevant aspirational brands to be aware of what is in the market
Create some packaging products, garment labels, gift wrap as needed
Product Design Support:
Create and modify technical sketches
Create mini bodies as needed - or delegate to other team members or freelancers
Support with organizing flats and mini bodies for presentations and internal design team sketch reviews, make any corrections needed, and update tech packs and notify vendors of design changes
Ensure line sheets are visually accurate with mini bodies

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Illustration, Textile Design, Fashion, or related field
Strong illustration and drawing skills
Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
Strong project management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently in our fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
Strong communication abilities
3-5+ years of experience in textile design for women’s fashion brands
