Job Description
AECOM’s Environmental Business Line is seeking an experienced and dedicated Technology &
Security Consultant III(i.E., Team Member) to support a wide variety of environmental consulting projects. After a successful onboarding period (estimated 3-9 months), and with their supervisor’s approval, the Team Member will have flexibility to set their own schedule for in-office work, in accordance with AECOM policy.
Initial Responsibility:
Our Team administers and provides help desk functions for the operation and sustainment of a database to track hazardous material and hazardous waste, in support of our Department of Defense client’s mission. With appropriate training and support, the Team Member will be expected to become a subject matter expert on the database and its use by our client and their customers. Additional duties will include expanding/implementing the system’s use by customers, communicating with customer program managers to ensure needs are being met, and analyzing system data to facilitate overall program improvement. This position requires an aptitude for data and systems management, client and customer support, and program ownership.

Our Team supports a wide variety of environmental projects and clients, each with unique systems and data management requirements. A critical aspect of this support is a Team Member that can learn why the data is collected (i.E., client processes and requirements), provide recommendations for data management (i.E., how best to capture the data with minimal effort), and leverage the data to facilitate enterprise-level decision making for client leadership. It is anticipated that the responsibilities of this position will extend to support management of environmental data within our Team and across our client base. Additional roles may include serving as a data task lead on key projects or project management responsibilities of data/information driven projects.

File Management – Develop logical organization of electronic media (e.G., files, folders, tables, lists).
Database Management – Understand database structures, relationships, and data formats. Provide administration (e.G., user accounts, passwords, data entry) and operational support (e.G., user training, user guides, user tasks).
Database Design Concepts – Learn data requirements and user requirements to provide recommendation for how data should be efficiently and intuitively be entered and stored within a database.
Client Management Skills
Knowledge – Identify client goals, objectives, and priorities. Develop awareness and familiarity with issues and events affecting a client’s organization, department, and/or customers.
Communicate – Provide calm, confident, and professional communication with clients. Learn and utilize client messaging and communication preferences. Be available to communicate with clients on their schedule. Communicate “on behalf of the client” when interacting with stakeholders and customers.
Detail and Organization – Meticulously track client requirements and provide solutions in an organized and consistent manner.
Advocate – Ensure client needs are met, within your scope of work and scope of influence.
Provide Solutions – Anticipate problems, communicate potential impacts, identify options, and provide recommendations.
