This position works in a service shop setting and is part of a team that is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and servicing mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and components for technical drilling machines used in the environmental, geotechnical, geothermal and water well markets. The goal of this position is to produce high quality customer ready equipment in a timely way.
Responsibilities
Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, recommend and repair all critical machine and engine adjustments
Study, read, and interpret schematic engineering drawings
Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision
Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments
Use hand tools, magnetic drill, grinder and air tools to assemble product
Prepare layout for subassemblies
Determine necessary tooling to be used for each work order and set-up if required
Use of measurement devices such as tape measure, caliper, micrometer, etc.
Complete all assignments in a timely manner and meet service delivery schedules
Complete all necessary documentation and follow up as required in a timely, orderly manner
Maintain a safe, clean work space ensuring compliance with company guidelines
Follow safety guidelines for safe operation of all equipment
Implement and identify needs for improvement to ensure that quality of service continues to grow
Occasional travel to customer location
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
Minimum of 1-year related experience. Proficient with hand tools
Experience in heavy equipment – manufacturing preferred
Able to read and understand schematics, comprehend specifications, technical bulletins and other related publications
Able to communicate thoughts and ideas in both verbal and written form
Experience with hydraulic systems, power trains, fabrication, assembly, and DC electrical systems
Demonstrate good hand and eye coordination with ability to use both hands in installing small hardware pieces
Willing to learn from and contribute to a team
Able to coordinate, plan for, and travel to customer site to work on equipment
High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
Persevere to solve problems and find new ways to deliver better efficiency
Basic computer skills
