Job Description
TSS III (Technology Support Specialist Level 3)
Hours:
8 hours/day;
5 days/week;

Description:
This position provides level III support of districtwide software and hardware tools that enable the department to provide a high level of satisfaction to customers using District technology. This position will also provide oversight of district wide technology standards and processes related to help desk services and asset management.

Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Design and implement new and current systems to maximize the benefits to the district.
Establish procedures for most effective use of these tools.
Achieve, maintain, and provide “expert-level” technical support for an application(s) or software/hardware solution(s).
Provide work direction, training, instruction, and support to tech support staff.
Discover, analyze and resolve district-wide technology problems and prevent future recurrence.
Collaborate with vendors to analyze options and provide the best possible solution or upgrade of system software or hardware, and manage the deployment project for these solutions.
Ensure that maximum benefits are being provided by technology solutions.
Assist supervisor with managing large projects.
Provide information and tools to enable appropriate personnel to manage the hardware inventory.
Collaborate with Technology Integration in assessing needs;
coordinating and providing training on District hardware and software.
Perform other tasks assigned by the Technology Coordinator of Districtwide Systems

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of Associate’s Degree or a two-year college or technical school certification or degree;
OR five years of experience in technical support of software and hardware.
Minimum of five years of experience as a technical support person in a computer environment, including hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree in computer-related field. A+ certification. Microsoft certification. Apple certification.
Experience with help desk software
Experience with asset management
Experience with K-12 technology
Proficiency in a language other than English (Spanish, Somali, Hmong, Vietnamese)
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Strong customer service orientation - dedication to customer needs;
understanding the customer's sense of urgency.
High level of comfort and skill in the use of a variety of software packages as well as the hardware on which they operate.
Demonstrate initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Excellent organizational skills in prioritizing and documenting needs.
Ability to work under pressure.
Flexibility, resilience, and tolerance for ambiguity.
Ability to collaborate effectively
