Technical Documentation Specialist

Supply Chain Management Consulting, LLC is a leading consulting firm in the Aerospace &
Defense industry, specializing in supply chain optimization. We are currently seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Technical Documentation Specialist to join our team. As a Technical Documentation Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation for our clients.
Responsibilities
Create clear and concise technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, and system specifications
Gather information from subject matter experts and engineers to understand complex technical concepts
Organize and structure technical information in a logical and user-friendly manner
Edit and proofread technical documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency
Ensure compliance with industry standards and guidelines
Publish and distribute technical documentation to the appropriate stakeholders
Update and maintain existing technical documentation as required
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and incorporate changes
Work with document management systems to organize and store technical documentation
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in technical documentation
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, or a related field
Proven experience as a Technical Documentation Specialist or similar role
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex technical information
Proficiency in using authoring tools (e.G., Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, Microsoft Word)
Experience with document management systems
Knowledge of style guides and industry standards for technical documentation (e.G., Microsoft Manual of Style, S1000D)
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts
Familiarity with Aerospace &
Defense industry terminology and concepts
Experience with graphic and visual design is a plus
Knowledge of XML and structured authoring is a plus
Working Knowledge of AutoCAD or other computer-aided design software
Knowledge of Electronic Components for RF Microwave applications
Knowledge of coding and scripting languages, such as C++, Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or other program or declarative languages
