Job Description
Job Summary:
To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams;
contribute to community;
and engage in a lifetime of learning. Plan, guide, evaluate, and revise a comprehensive social-emotional and behavior support program with interventions and supports aligned to district guidelines;
work directly with scholars including conducting individual assessments and developing and implementing individual scholar goals and objectives;
serve as a team member to support MTSS;
build capacity in staffto meet building and system-wide social-emotional and behavior initiatives through professional learning for individuals, departments, and/or grade levels and collaborating with and supporting staff in meeting the social-emotional and behavior goals and objectives of scholars;
support and promote School Improvement Plan (SIP) for Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) goals including implementation of steps and processes;
implement the goals andobjectives of the District and the school and/or program for which employed;
make appropriate and equitable use of resources and technologies;
maintain contact and communication with guardians/caregivers of scholars, working with them in the development of their scholar;
design, deliver and assess social-emotional and behavior curriculum according to district guidelines;
participate in district, building, and department leadership activities;
provide in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous learning when applicable;
work collaboratively with others. Ability to be flexible with work hours to meet the needs of the district and building at the discretion of the supervisor.

Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIT)
Zanewood Community School:
A Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math School
Our PK - grade 5 STEAM school is a dynamic, thriving magnet school with curriculum and instruction that continually evolves to integrate national standards, best practices, and new technologies with core curriculum. The core curriculum is the Osseo Area Schools' curriculum in all subject areas. Value added standards in art, engineering, science, math and technology are integrated with the core curriculum and are included in value added projects at each grade level which include the use of technology tools and scientific equipment.
Teachers use inquiry based instructional strategies and differentiation. All teachers use PBIS Classroom strategies. Teachers work with a Curriculum Integration Coordinatorto develop, review, and revise value added standards and projects.

Teachers at theScience, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math School:
Integrate science concepts into other subject areas, including the use of technology
Use an inquiry based focus to let students' questions guide instruction, especially in science
Integrate other subject areas into the area of reading and art.
Are willing to learn new technologies and integrate them with core curriculum and changing projects
Are willing to attend staff development and planning sessions during the school day, before or after school, and in the summer
Are committed to work equitablywith a diverse, multicultural student population
Are flexible, willing to try new things, positive, and fun
Minimum qualifications include:
Bachelor’s Degree required
MN teaching license in appropriate field, OR a valid MN teaching license in another field and willing to obtain an Out of Field Permission.*
If not currently licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 1 or 2.*
