Tax Specialist

Job Summary:
The Tax Specialist will be responsible for managing the company's tax compliance and planning activities specifically related to our real estate operations. This role involves ensuring compliance with tax regulations, preparing accurate tax filings, and providing strategic tax advice to optimize our real estate tax position.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns with a focus on real estate transactions and holdings.
Ensure compliance with all real estate tax laws and regulations, staying up to date with any changes.
Conduct detailed tax research and analysis related to real estate investments, developments, and transactions.
Advise management on the tax implications of real estate activities and provide strategic tax planning.
Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and deferred tax calculations related to real estate.
Coordinate with external tax advisors, real estate consultants, and auditors as needed.
Maintain and organize tax records and documentation for real estate transactions.
Participate in tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
Identify opportunities for tax savings and recommend strategies to optimize the tax positions of real estate projects.
Support the finance team with various accounting and financial tasks related to real estate as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation and compliance, specifically in the real estate sector.
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations related to real estate.
Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Experience in Agriculture field/industry is a plus.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
