Under the management of the Office of Innovation &
Technology (OIT), the Systems Engineer will fill a crucial role in supporting the Philadelphia Fire Department. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for mission-critical cross-platform technologies, which include data storage, backup disaster recovery, active directory administration, network security, SAN administration, planning, architectural planning and design, server management and engineering, and other related infrastructure needs. This role is crucial within the Philadelphia Fire Department's IT infrastructure, thus sound technical knowledge of the subject area as well as consistent reliability is required. Professional skills, attention to detail, along with the ability to work within a team are necessary to be successful in this role.

- Ability to provide sound recommendations for continued service improvement.
- Collaboration with other professionals to ensure high-quality deliverables within organization guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Endpoint management ( Microsoft Intune).
- Image development and deployment
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Ability to provide administration for a virtual environment, including creation, migration, and maintenance.
- Level 3 systems troubleshooting &
problem resolution.
- Storage management and capacity planning.
- Backup solution management.
- Server management.
- Planning and implementing software and firmware upgrades.
- Providing primary support for infrastructure systems.
- Applications upgrade, deployments, and migration activities.
- Server administration and monitoring.
- Address security concerns and infrastructure needs.
- Active Directory implementation, administration, and maintenance activities (GPO)
