Systems Engineer - Expert (Ops Team Lead/Technical Engineer)

We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer - Expert (Ops Team Lead/Technical Engineer) to join our team.
Primary Job Duties
· Systems Engineer background with 11+ years' experience in systems design and engineering
· Candidate whom has focused on the implementation process and IT operations with focus onissues, and resolutions, including integration of computer systems and networks.
· The Systems Engineer will support in a general perspective and larger concern with the organization's essential objectives. The precise role and accountability of theSystems Engineer may change from task to task based on the scope and complexity of the assignment and with different phases of a systemslife cycle.
· Support servers and computer systems.
· Leading a team of 10+ resources including both remote and in person members
· Monitor, organize, and manage a project's tasks.
· Implement and maintain the computer systems so they are compliant with the organization's guidelines or SOP (Standards Operating Procedure).
· Monitor and manage all installed systems and infrastructure.
· Establish, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
· Evaluate existing systems and provide technical direction to IT support staff.
· Oversee the operational functionsof customized software and hardware requirements.
· Plan and implement systems automation as required for better efficiency.
· Ensure IT operations meetthe security system requirementsto maintain data safety.
· Focus on workflows, optimization methods, and risk management tools for given projects.
· Oversee the availability of technical resources.
· Maintain and supervise inventory.
· Ensure a rapid response to any technical issues.
· Performing regular security tests and security monitoring

Skills:
· SPLUNK foundational
· Nutanix/Cloud Computing
· CompTIA A+, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Security+, Network+
· Experience with virtualization (e.G., VMware, Virtual Box)
Job Requirements
· Active TS/SCI + Full Scope Poly U.S. Government Security is required.
· Education and Year’s of Experience Requirement:
candidate must possess a minimum of 11 years' relevant work experience plus a bachelor’s degree -OR- 9 years’ relevant work experience and a master’s degree.
· Proven leadership experience with multi-location resources (in person and remote
· Experience with Power Shell Scripting
· Proven success in areas of troubleshooting, technical support, communication, project management and governance skills.
· Must be well versed in analytics, problem solving and conflict resolution working with all levels of stakeholders.
· MS Windows, Managing Windows, Windows Server Administration (2012, 2016, 2019)
· Maintaining Networks and Network File Systems, experience working with MECM/SSCM, DNS, DHCP, NetApp/SAN
· Experience working withActive Directory,Group Policy,Creating and managing system permissions and user accounts
· Knowledge of software development, installation, configuringcomputer hardware
· Experience upgrading, installing, and configuring application software and computer hardware, experience with scripting
· Experience working with System Administration and IT certificates in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields
· Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
· Strong interpersonal skills, especially the ability to network and establish professional relationships.
· Ability to prioritize, demonstrated strong organizational skills, and ability to meet or exceed deadlines.
Physical Demands:
Position will require frequent sitting, standing, and/or mobility within an office setting. Employee must be able to use hands to complete work at a workstation/computer, be able to reach, type and manipulate with hands, fingers, and arms;
lift and/or move up to 20 pounds;
talk, see and hear.
Work Environment:
Work is performed on client site in a professional office environment with moderate stress and noise levels. Position requires employee to effectively use a computer, potentially for long periods of time, and to accommodate potentially frequent interruptions. Candidate should be both customer-focused and present a team approach to overall work.
Schedule:
Business core hours are Monday through Friday, 0930AM -1430PM. Standard work hours may vary for this position based upon contract requirements. Position will be located onsite at a customer facility in Herndon, VA.
