Surface Transportation Project Engineer

Job Description
AECOM Technical Services, Inc. has multiple openings for a Surface Transportation Project Engineer to be based in Detroit, MI.
Job Responsibilities:

Develop preliminary concepts, comparing parameters such as typical sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, right of way impacts, utility coordination needs, and study-level cost estimates.
Calculate various roadway components, including geometric design, superelevation, guardrail, intersection detail grades, and ADA curb ramp grading.
Create models of the existing and proposal roadway surfaces, terrains and end conditions for use in design and quantity calculations.
Coordinate the design with engineers in adjacent disciplines such as drainage, structures, and traffic signals.
Develop the roadway plan set/construction drawings including layouts, profiles, typical sections, utilities, and other required details.
Calculate quantities and detailed design cost estimates.
Provide quality control by checking and verifying calculations and design work within the team.
May telecommute.
