Subsurface Utility Engineering (Sue) Field Technician L

Our partner is seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Technician I in Chipley, FL. This entry-level position offers on-the-job training in utility locating and designating, providing knowledge and experience in Subsurface Utility Engineering and surveying methods. Responsibilities:
Learn to operate SUE utility locating and designating equipment
Use tools and equipment for utility investigations
Drive commercial motor vehicles (CDL license not required)
Complete daily work logs
Perform basic vehicle maintenance
Assist with survey and data collection tasks
Perform daily maintenance of equipment
Load and unload survey equipment
Clean and maintain survey equipment
Learn to operate survey equipment
Set up survey tripods
Perform safety set-up and flagging operations
Requirements
High School Diploma/GED
Valid driver's license with good driving record
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical
Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for CMV operation
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical movements necessary for the job
Willingness to work outdoors in all climates
Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time
Good oral communication skills and attention to detail
OSHA Safety certifications (preferred)
Prior utility related experience (preferred)
Basic understanding of Highway/Utility plans (preferred)
