Job Description
Engineering position for Space and High Reliability Products Group. Primary responsibilities will include supporting existing analog products as well as new product developments for the space market. Products supported include:
Serial Interface (i.E. RS-422, CANBUS, I2C), Battery Management Systems (BMS), Analog Switches/Multiplexers, Precision Op-amps, Instrumentation Amplifiers, Current Sources and Drivers, Isolators, Voltage References, and Precision ADCs. The engineer will work under the guidance and mentoring of a senior Application Engineer. Programming experience with Python, Java, and/or C languages as well as knowledge of Verilog coding with FPGAs desired. Knowledge of using and troubleshooting PSpice models.
Job Responsibilities include:
Work with design, test, and product engineering teams to learn, support, and document customer issues with existing radiation hardened products.
Participate in conference calls and onsite meetings if necessary to help solve customer issues with existing and new products.
Maintain a database of solved customer issues.
New product evaluation, validation, and characterization (hands-on work in the lab)
Write technical documentation (e.G. data sheet, application notes, and design guidelines)
Contribute to the definition of innovative and differentiated radiation hardened products including battery management systems (BMS), precision Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs)
Collaborate with design, product, and test engineering teams in design and implementation of product evaluation boards.
Contribute to the development of reference designs using radiation hardened products.
Training of field applications engineers (FAEs) as well as customer’s engineers.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Applications Engineering position will be responsible for three main functions:
Device Characterization (30% of time):
You will work with Senior Application Engineers to learn how to perform the different lab tests for the characterization of the different products. It is important to understand how the parts are tested to be able to understand the parts performance when helping a customer. This knowledge will assist in setting up the customer’s exact configuration for verification and characterization of a customer’s issue.
Documentation (20% of time):
You will work with a Senior Application Engineer to learn FrameMaker. FrameMaker is our publishing software for our Data Sheets, Tech Briefs and Application Notes. You will be expected to keep accurate lab notes (software of your choice) and document any test procedures for future reference. As you progress in your learning, you will be expected to publish Data sheets, Tech Briefs, Application Notes, Customers Responses, and possibly Technical Articles.
Customer Support (50% of time):
You will work with marketing and sales to facilitate the design-in of our products as well as providing technical assistance to address customer questions and analyze field returns. This will include software development for our evaluation platforms. You will train Field Application Engineers on products and demonstrations systems to enhance sales channel effectiveness.
