Staff Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to support our accounting group in order to efficiently run our business. Our ideal candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, be a helpful team player, detail oriented and tactful. This role reports directly to the Controller.
Please note this position is located in Lexington, KY.
Daily responsibilities include:
Assist with Accounts Payable by posting invoices and managing payment activity
Assist with month-end closing procedures
Reconcile expense general ledger accounts and other general accounts as needed, including cost of goods sold
Daily and monthly bank account reconciliations
Additional responsibilities include:
Post monthly journal entries (accruals, depreciation, other)
Manage all accounting operations based on accounting principles
Keep information confidential and secure them with database backups
Propose process improvements for efficiency
Work closely with the Controller on any other tasks relating to reporting, forecasting, compliance and general operations
Requirements
Proven 2+ years of work experience as an Accountant
Solid understanding and experience working with an accounting system (we use NetSuite)
Proactive and have strong attention to detail
Thorough knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
Proficient in Excel/Microsoft Suite
Experience with NetSuite, Expensify, Salesforce is a plus
