Staff Accountant

Job Description
The staff accountant will support the Playaway Products Finance team supporting general accounting functions within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work within financial reporting systems implementing operating procedures to optimize productivity and efficiency of organization’s accounting practices;
identify internal control issues and make recommendations to address.
Reconcile key balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Prepare and post journal entries.
Research and resolve general ledger discrepancies and issues.
Participate in the month-end close process.
Assist with cash monitoring and management through performing accurate bank reconciliations.
Reconcile Intercompany monthly/quarterly/annual Sales Tax filings for states where organization has established nexus and state/government contract reporting.
