General Summary
As Staff Accountant, you will support the accounting team by maintaining financial reports, records, general ledger, and performing general bookkeeping while also looking for opportunities for improvement and automation.

You will sit directly with the Accounting team, work in close collaboration with Royalty and Customer Success teams, and report to the Assistant Controller.
Core Functions
Close (50%)
Support month-end close process
Execute mid-level general ledger accounting journal entries, which can include, but not limited to, expense accruals, prepaid expenses and deferred revenue
Prepare sales/use, property and various business tax filings
Prepare and update reconciliations for GL accounts, including bank account reconciliations
Other (50%)
Track and record miscellaneous cash receipts throughout the month
Assist with partner payouts and related reporting
Assist annually with preparation for the independent auditors
Assist in other special projects, including but not limited to, internal controls and process improvements
Prepare various other reports and projects as requested

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
Working knowledge of US GAAP
0- 2 years experience in accounting, particularly in aspects of account reconciliations
High level of proficiency in Excel and accounting software programs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines
Ability to identify things that need to be done or areas where assistance would be helpful, with the desire to jump in and assist without being asked
Ability to accept feedback and act on it
A curious mindset and the ability to analyze trends and identify anomalies in account balances
Desired Qualifications:
Experience using NetSuite accounting software

Compensation
Peaksware is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $47,419- $79,031. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
This role is eligible for variable compensation, including bonus.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment that is well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned with adequate ventilation and a noise level that is usually moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
