Sr Project Manager Purchasing (Technical Buyer)

Job Description
The Sr Project Manager Purchasing - Technical Buyer will be responsible for the following:
Technical Buyer isresponsible for managing an assigned set of commoditiesand the associated suppliers and materials to ensure the company meets its annual and strategic goals.
Technical Buyer works directly with the engineering team to ensure thattechnical requirements are clearly understood and met.
Technical Buyer will beresponsible for sourcing, negotiating, and qualifyingnew and existing suppliers to achieve best value.
Prepare supplier selection - includesRFQ process, supplier evaluation and communication, and participation in sourcing decisions.
Active participation indefinition of product related supplier strategy
Manageprocurement activitiesfor platform and application projects -includes target cost setting.
Responsible for achievement ofquality, cost and delivery targets.
Interface with:
Central Purchasing, material field related purchasing, quality, engineering department and Business Unit
Ensurepreventive quality planning (PQP) for project specific new partsand coordination of their release.
Promote and supportRPP (cost reduction) goalswhile continually assessing the quality and performance of the supply chain.
Change managementfor procured parts.
Supports series production and after-market when needed.
Travel domestically and internationally up to 30%
