Position Summary:
DroneUp is seeking a Sr. Manager, Safety who will be responsible for the execution of the comprehensive DroneUp Safety Program. The ideal candidate will collect and analyze all relevant data to make recommendations to management regarding changes to policy, procedures, and practices to enhance safety, and also act as an information conduit to deliver safety information to DroneUp employees.
Responsibilities:
Manage and operate the Safety Management System and all related safety department functions
Document specific and important results the position is intended to achieve over time
Connect major, significant, or principal functions performed to a result, against which some measurement of performance often can be applied
Support further development, planning, and implementation of the DroneUp Safety Management System
Evaluate incident report findings to determine cause and provide interpretation of data to the safety committee and administer corrective actions in response to their findings
Compile and analyze statistical data identifying adverse trends, lessons learned, etc. and ensure results are presented
Advise senior management on issues pertaining to air safety
Conduct risk analysis for new operational locations and assist in educating crewmembers
Develop and maintain scalable monitoring systems to support operations (event reports, aircraft registration, emergency response plan, etc)
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Aviation, or any related technical field
10+ years industry experience
5+ years in aviation safety
Strong knowledge of the federal aviation regulations
Formal training in Safety Management System from a recognized training provider
Experience working with the FAA or NTSB and familiarity with their policies and recommended practices
Experience in development and implementation of SMS
Remote pilot license;
additional licenses such as Commercial/CFI preferred
High attention to detail and experience with document generation and recordkeeping
Excellent written, verbal communication skills and presentation skills
Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Travel requirement of 15%

Salary
Just like drones themselves, your earning potential can soar to new heights, but it largely depends on your qualifications and expertise. If you are recognized as an industry expert, your earning potential can take true flight. The target salary range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000. Your unique qualifications and contributions to the field will play a significant role in determining your precise compensation. The total rewards for this position may also include;
potential for annual bonuses, benefits package, paid time off, and more.
