Job Description
The Sr. Human Resources Generalist will support the Integrated Solutions (IS) Division to champion and drive key Human Resource initiatives, providing an environment and culture that fosters inclusion, growth, and high performance. A central responsibility within this position will be providing HR support for the organization's union bargaining unit population. You will also design and support HR initiatives throughout the enterprise, including effectively communicating HR programs such as training, engagement, and performance. This position is on-site to sit in our Fort Worth HQ location.
Responsibilities
The Sr. Human Resources Generalist will be passionate about continuous improvement and provide tactical and strategic support to both union and non-union employees.
Day-to-day activities will be concentrated in the following areas:
Union/HR Support
Partner with organization management andunion leadership to resolve employee concerns and grievances.
Develop and foster relationships with union leadership, including business agents, stewards, and union hall staff.
Execute necessary reports for the union bargaining unit, including but not limited to union seniority, union dues, and union layoff/recall lists.
Handle routine labor relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements;
refer complex matters to appropriate management staff.
Serve as the initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaints.
Conduct initial interviews and gather information for employee relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns;
inform appropriate HR staff when additional investigation is required.
Assist with record-keeping for hires, terminations, leave of absences, transfers, and promotions.
Collect information and data to assess negotiations and disputes' cost and policy implications. This may include management and union proposals, pay scales and wages, benefits, working conditions, and other mitigating circumstances.
Assist with preparing documents and records required for contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and labor organizations.
Employee Engagement
Build and maintain effective working relationships with management and employees.
Collaborate with leaders to create a positive and productive work culture.
Anticipate and pre-empt employee issues/concerns.
Consistently administer HR policies and collective bargaining agreements.
Coordinate activities throughout the organization to drive connection, high levels of commitment, and employee engagement.
Conduct exit interviews with departing employees to track trends and advise leaders on necessary actions to improve retention.
Support team members across the HR function;
answer and respond to HR Connection calls, emails, and tickets promptly and efficiently while providing excellent customer service to employees.
Talent Management
Work with management to understand and execute against the organization's hiring forecast.
Act as a liaison to assist the site and the recruitment team with a smooth talent acquisition process.
Oversee the onboarding and assimilation process for Marine Creek and Quorum Drive new hires.
Employee Development
Work with various stakeholders to create and implement an effective employee onboarding process.
Develop and deliver approved training presentations as requested.
Support HR Business Partners during employee calibration and succession planning sessions.
Payroll and Benefits Support
Answer employee questions regarding payroll and benefits matters, invoking the assistance of appropriate team members when necessary.
Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations.
Assist employees with benefit enrollment questions at the time of hire and during the annual open enrollment process.
As appropriate, schedule onsite wellness initiatives and oversee the onsite medical clinic.
Conduct and assist with various routine audits (i.E. 401(k), Dayforce, etc.) to affirm that data is accurate and up to date.
Other Activities
Support engagement activities when appropriate for the sites. Be an active team member of the Fort Worth Activities/Engagement Committee.
Lead and participate in special projects as assigned, such as document control, policy creation, file maintenance, and budget management.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action, collective bargaining, unions, labor relations, and human resources.
Support safety activities when appropriate for the sites. Be the HR representative for the Fort Worth Safety Committee.
