About the team
We're looking for a Head of Engineering for Banking Core Solutions to join our Banking Solutions Technology Leadership team.
The Core Banking business generates over $1B annual revenue through industry leading core banking platforms for Large financial institutions, regional and community banks, and includes flagship products such as IBS, Horizon, Systematics and Profile.
Our teams are globally distributed and based across the US and India.
We are passionate about our Engineering skills, with a focus on building to scale and building it right. As the leader of this team, you will be shaping the culture while developing and leading the organization with over $50M budget to deliver world class features for our business. As part of this role, you’ll help us shape the future of banking and how we build our new strategic assets to deliver highly resilient and feature rich global solutions.
What you will be doing:

To succeed in this position, you'll require a deep level of engineering leadership experience across technologies in the development of a large enterprise environment. You will work closely with senior business and technical stakeholders to prioritize and deliver solutions, accountable for the delivery of software solutions. You will need to have worked in a global environment and have prior experience of working and managing global teams. That said, the technology is a means and not an end for you;
the people you affect and interact with matter the most. You care about the tools used to get the job done, but they don’t define you. You love to solve new problems and thrive in an innovative and changing environment.
Key responsibilities include:

Manages the design, development and maintenance of large scale, enterprise grade solutions serving some of the largest banks and financial institutions in the world.
Manages full software development lifecycle including testing, implementation, and auditing.
Performs product design, bug verification and beta support which may require research and analysis.
Lead the RCA process for major incidents as leads trouble shooting and incident resolution when those issues occur.
Experienced in managing large data sets and data development teams
Enterprise Platforms and solutions
Cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code
Large scale ETL and data transformation
Manages work efforts of managers/supervisors with responsibility for hiring, firing, performance appraisals and pay reviews.
Identifies and allocates technical resources for client projects within Development. Includes a mix of FTEs assigned to the development organization and purchased resources from other lines of business.
Forecasts resource needs based on an analysis of both portfolio and projected client spend.
Owns and manages the departmental budget
Ensures base applications meet appropriate quality standards.
Adheres to the departmental application development and client delivery process standards.
Provides input on product direction to product managers.
Coordinates with industry compliance consultants and product managers to verify applications meet regulatory compliance.
Ensures proper application of technology.
