Sr. Database Engineer

We are looking for an experienced database engineer/programmer with solid Linux system engineering skills.
You will be assisting be working with a team to:
- Design, build, and maintain SQL-based application infrastructure
- Provide data modeling experience
- Support distributed data persistence and reporting
- Configure relational database servers for data collection and analysis
- Provide customer with a stable, optimally designed, tested and implemented database environment that allows collection and analysis of diverse data.
- Ensure that all databases environments are deployed, maintained and managed via proactive monitoring of performance and capacity planning.
- Interface with application development, testing, and operational support teams on production/development issues to ensure that all database related
issues are resolved to achieve customer objectives successfully.
Required Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics or comparable with 5+ years
professional experience
Must have two or more of the following:
- 2+ years Experience developing applications in Linux environment;
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Debian, SUSE, etc.
- 2+ years experience in BASH scripting
- 5+ years Experience developing applications using C/C++, C#, Java.
- 2+ years Experience in MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB database development, installation, deployment and upgrade procedures
- Source code management experience (Git, SVN, RTC) and the CI/CD pipepline
- COMPTIA Security+ CE current or equivalent
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance. Note:
US citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred Experience
- 5+ years Engineering of Enterprise grade Database systems such as Sybase, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Open-source Databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB. Experience with Elastic Search.
- Database performance tuning and Query optimization.
