Job Description:
The Senior Credit Manager is responsible for leading our credit department and ensuring the companys revenues are protected while managing risks. The role involves a significant amount of time dealing with risk assessment, problem-solving, and negotiation.
Responsibilities:
Credit Risk Assessment:
Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential customers, set credit ceilings, and manage credit scoring and credit checking.
Debt Collection:
Oversee customer billing and cash receipts processing. Implement effective recovery strategies and manage the collection process.
Credit Policy Management:
Develop and implement the company's credit policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Reporting:
Prepare reports detailing the credit status of customers. Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasts.
Team Management:
Manage and train credit control teams. Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork and growth.
Strategic Planning:
Participate in corporate strategic planning and implement strategic goals and objectives.
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with sales department to negotiate payment plans for clients with outstanding debts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
Proven experience as a Senior Credit Manager or similar role.
Strong understanding of lending procedures and laws.
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to create and process financial spreadsheets.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Leadership skills with a problem-solving attitude.
