Sr. Accountant

Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
General Ledger Management:
Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and financial modeling.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Reconciliations:
Perform and review account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, to ensure financial accuracy.
Internal Controls:
Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Audit Support:
Coordinate and support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
Tax Compliance:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and prepare tax returns as required.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions, including profitability analysis, cost control, and investment analysis.
Month-End and Year-End Close:
Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Team Leadership:
Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Special Projects:
Lead and participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Masters degree or CPA certification preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting or supervisory role.
