Job Description
The Resource Coordinator - Imaging Sonographer reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
This is an individual who works closely with all members of the echo lab including the lead cardiac sonographer and medical director. Requires strong communication skills, conflict resolution, Patients First perspective, proactive attitude towards problem solving, initiative, and independent decision-making skills. This individual will be expected to take a leadership role in providing adult and pediatric echo education, quality and accreditation of the echo department including the development and implementation of quality assurance programs, training and development of technical staff, and new program/technology development. Works closely with department Lead Cardiac Sonographer, Manager, IT and cardiology attending physicians to address issues as they arise and plan for long-term projects and improvements. This role will also have operations duties. Performs clinical echo procedures as needed.
Responsibilities:
Provides coordination of staff and resources, oversees patient schedule, and problem solving.
Collects data to support the measurement and tracking components of quality management.
Participate in formal and informal process improvement and problem solving to enhance the quality of service to customers.
Ensures the continuity of care through effective interactions with other departments.
Works in concert with the leadership to assure quality of imaging service and patient care.
Clinical/professional expertise in modality specific imaging techniques, including an in-depth knowledge of imaging procedures and technology.

This position will not have direct reports. This individual must be comfortable supervising a group of his/her peers.

Neonates, Infant, Toddler, Child, Adolescence, Early Adult, Young Adult, Middle Adult and Geriatrics
Internal:
As a provider of direct patient care and a point of contact for technical / clinical issues and service, communicates regularly with patients, families, physicians and nursing staff throughout the hospital. Will also interact frequently with Biomedical Engineering and Information Services as it relates to troubleshooting and equipment needs.
External:
Develop and maintain contacts with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers of related resources of potential use to the department, hospital, and its patients. Should develop external contacts with professional organizations and / or other labs.
