$35-$45/hour for small group training classes and personal training sessions
$20/hour Small Group Training Lead admin hours
THE ZONE
The Zone is searching for multi-talented individuals who share a passion for leading others to reach their greatest physical and mental potential. We are looking for group fitness instructors, personal trainers, and strength and conditioning coaches with incredible personalities, who are eager to coach multiple formats of small group training in a boutique-style studio while incorporating the use of heart rate training technology as well as the most relevant scientifically proven forms of functional training. The Zone is a 60-minute athletic-inspired workout designed to help you efficiently achieve maximum results. Led by an expert coach, this revolutionary results-based program uses heart training technology and team-based camaraderie to take your workout to the next level.
Role and Responsibilities
The ZONE Lead Coach is responsible for overseeing the Department and providing onsite leadership for ZONE Coaches. This person actively promotes the sale &
purchases of ZONE memberships within the club, thereby assisting Active Wellness with member satisfaction, retention, and meeting financial targets.
Specific Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Meet monthly and yearly revenue goals through the development of ZONE programming
- Track individual daily instructor class counts for ZONE classes
- Train ZONE 101 Classes in coordination with Fitness Director &
General Manager
- Support and manage ZONE Coaches;
interview, hire, train,and develop
- Manage member questions, comments, and concerns on a daily basis and provide mediation between members/staff, members/members, and staff/staff
- Work with Fitness Director and Housekeeping teams to ensure ZONE studio cleanliness
- Attract and retain ZONE members
- Produce ZONE class schedule and descriptions
- Observe and participate in ZONE classes regularly to ensure quality control
- Monitor ZONE class attendance weekly and make sure billing is up to date
- Fill in as a ZONE Coach for last-minute absences by staff (should be rare)
- Manage new program preparations and launches quarterly
- Evaluate and coach staff as needed
- Maintain ZONE studio in first-class condition at all times including cleanliness and maintenance of equipment, floors, walls, etc.
- Meet regularly with club housekeeping and maintenance personnel to inform them of any issues
Other Functions
- Be knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered by Active Wellness
- Promote club services and activities
- Assist with keeping the club well stocked and clean
- Attend Active Wellness site meetings and training
- Handle injury and illness and security incident reporting
Requirements:

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and highly responsive with a commitment to customer service
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills, customer service skills, results-oriented, ability to multitask, and commitment to the fitness industry
- AED/CPR/First Aid Certified
- National Personal Training Certification(s) required (see approved Certification, Licenses, and Permits list) as well as modality-specific certifications as required by role (if applicable)
- Proof of citizenship or legal status
Physical and Working Conditions
- Ability to take the responsibility for the health and safety of others
- Ability to stand for several hours in the same shift;
ability to lift 25 lbs
- Fitness club environment
- Must follow OSHA and Active Wellness safety standards
