Job Title:
Shipping &
Materials Handling Coordinator

Overall Purpose:
Facilitates the shipment of all products moving out of the facility, utilizing various computer system software tools for processing in order to maintain accurate shipment/sales invoicing and inventory records. Coordinates with production scheduling, production operations, customer service, external service providers, and others to achieve effective and efficient shipping processes. Serves as a dual role to support other shipping and warehouse functions such as:
loading trucks, boxing, wrapping, labeling, and prepping ordering for shipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process shipments, including verifying quantities, labeling, packaging, and confirming accuracy.
  • Process shipping paperwork, including bills of lading, packing slips, and export documents.
  • Wrapping and labeling pallets from assembly lines.
  • Boxing of finished goods and prepping for shipment.
  • Handling pallets and loading trucks with a forklift.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of orders.
  • Track shipments, delivery dates, and update customer service as needed.
  • Respond to customer service inquiries regarding shipping information and order status.
  • Schedule and coordinate with logistics providers to ensure on time delivery at best cost.
  • Participate in cycle counts and stock audits as needed.
  • Ensure all processes transacted in SAP are accurate and completed daily.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Physical Demands &
Frequency:

Requires frequent lifting, reaching, handling, fingering and near acuity.

  1. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
  1. Must be fork truck certified.
  1. Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed.

General Educational Development:
Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables;
interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form. Must be computer literate, as this position will involve the use of a PC to print labels and locate inventory in the warehouse using MRP. Good math skills will be essential to the success of this position, as the position requires the ability to accurately count pieces for completion of return to stock process.

Qualifications/Training:
Candidate shall successfully complete training program and as applicable, qualification requirements, as defined by the responsible functional manager. Basic computer skills are required. New hires shall demonstrate satisfactory performance during new hire probationary period.

Training:
No experience necessary, on the job training provided.

Aptitudes:
High attention to details and strong organizational skills.

Temperaments:
Must be able to perform a variety of duties;
often changing from onetask to another without the loss of efficiency. Requires the precise attainment of standards;
in order to make evaluations or decisions that are based upon sensory or judgmental criteria.

Environmental Conditions:
Frequent impact noise, seasonal changes in heat.

Protective Clothing and Personal Devices:
Safety glasses, safety shoes, and gloves.
